Visitor Update and Trip Booked

Thank you all for your sympathy and advice regarding our recent uninvited guests. We’ve now had 3 vermin-free nights inside the house.  We have caught a couple with traps outside, but feel we’re safe to assume they won’t be coming in anymore, as long as we’re vigilant about closing all the windows whenever we’re out after dark. There is also still no evidence of any food tampering or other destruction inside the house. As a result we’ve spent the morning (and a 1/2 a bottle of Lysol) deep-cleaning the house and feel we’ve earned a few hours on the beach!

On a much less disgusting note, we’ve booked tickets home for Christmas! We’ve been kicking around the idea of going home for awhile and checked prices on a whim the other night – less than $500 return per person! That’s the best deal we’ve seen or heard of! So, get ready KC and SD – the Snethens are coming home for the holidays!

That is great news on both counts! Your summer of rats has been our summer of snakes-one timber rattler at the back door followed the next day by one baby copperhead in the front yard. Luckily, none the past few weeks. Thanks for you updates! Hope to see you around Christmas!
