There are many women across the US walking to raise money for breast cancer research during the month of October. Women here in the BVI are participating in the battle against this disease too! Last Sunday was the 6th annual walk/run event. Fundraising continues through the end of the month, but last year they raised nearly $70,000 to benefit women here in the BVI! The walk is organised by Sensus Gym and they make contact with doctors at the clinics and hospital here. When a woman needs a mammogram and is unable to pay, the doctors use a voucher in place of payment. Sensus is then notified that a voucher has been used and pays the bill from the funds raised. Here’s a photo of all the Cedar teachers who participated in the walk:
Welcome!Thank you for checking out our blog! I started blogging during our 2 year stint in the British Virgin Islands and found I really enjoy journaling in this way. Now that we've purchased a 125 year old home, we are embarking upon a very different kind of adventure!
