I hope you all had a fabulous New Year’s Eve celebration. We were blessed to be able to spend the holiday with our good friend, Amy!
In order to get the cheapest flight deal for our trip home, we had to overnight in Atlanta. Since that is where Amy is now living, we just added an extra night so we could spend some time with her too.
It was great to see her apartment and spend some time with cute little Olive.
Then, early on New Year’s Day we flew back to the Virgin Islands. The flight went smoothly, but the ferry ended up being several hours late because they were commandeered by a cruise ship excursion. We actually took the cruisers from the ferry dock to their cruise ship. It took a long time (I think the cruisers could have walked the mile between the two faster than we could motor over there) but it meant we were about 20 feet from those massive boats!
Look at this incredible slide on one of the Disney ships. It actually hangs off the side of the boat by at least 10 feet.
The delay also meant we got to see the sea planes take off and land a couple times!
Then it was finally back to Tortola and home by 7:30pm. It feels good to be back in our own bed! I think I’ll hit the early morning yoga class tomorrow to work out some of the kinks in my back from traveling, then it’s back to school on Thursday!
Happy New Year everybody!
