Moving Day… attempt two

Oops! So… I was using the blog to model a writing technique at school and accidentally hit the publish button. Sorry about that! Let’s try again!

Black cats, walking under ladders, and switching bodies. These are all things people think of when they think of Friday the 13th. Not us! For us, Friday the 13th will always be remembered as the day we closed on our first house!

I raced out of school a few minutes early that afternoon to make sure I could make it to the bank on time. Just a few hours later we unlocked the door to our new home and enjoyed a celebratory glass of wine!

The next day began the moving! Thank goodness for Tony’s friends Nate and John!

While we were moving in, there was a flurry of other activity occurring as well! The roofers were repairing the front porch roof, the plumber was replacing a section of sewer pipe, and the cleaners were just wrapping up.

It’s been a couple weeks now, but things are starting to come together!

Thanks, Tony, for taking some pictures of the house!!

Wow! It looks amazing!!! Question…I have looked at traveling with my family and friends around spring break. Any suggestions for flying to Tortola.. WOW, it’s pricey so I wondered if you had any tips. Houses are quite reasonable to rent, but the airfare will kill us!!

    • The cheapest is usually through St. Thomas. Try looking for Charlotte Amalie. The cheapest we ever found was about $500, but that included an overnight in Atlanta. Lucky for us, a good friend was living there at the time. Good luck to you! It’s not easy to get to the BVI, but it’s worth it!

Thanks for the tips, Lindy! I will check it out. It looks like a wonderful place to live. Since I cannot live there, may as well try and visit!!!
